Born in Birmingham, England, JD Hunt was the second of three children. JD first discovered his passion for acting at Primary School, auditioning for every school play he could. It was clear to see from a young age that he wasn’t shy and loved to entertain people. He was often both commended and reviled for coming off script and knowing every line of the play. Throughout Primary School he played a number of lead roles.

He went on to undertake his Secondary education at Handsworth Grammar School where he began to take his passion for the arts more seriously. From being observed in drama classes alone he gained the supporting role of the ‘Pie Man’ in the school's production of Oliver Twist which he was content with (as he didn't have to audition for the part - the good old days). Once rehearsals began was promoted to the role of ‘Charlie Bates’ and  understudy for ‘Oliver Twist’.
